Not only can pilates help with flexibility and strength, but it also provides women with immaculate control over their body movements as well as their body awareness.

According to Today’s Women & Health, pilates teaches women how to move, which is crucial, as they share, “If you do not learn how to move […] for instance, [if you are] maintaining your shoulders too high, you will never accomplish body symmetry.” Because pilates requires precise and well-thought-out and calculated movements, your body will be well balanced and healthier.

There are many reasons to aim for complete body symmetry, stability, and balance. One of the many reasons is simply because it will make you feel better! Another benefit is just how much more relaxed you will be. When your muscles are not as tense, you will experience less pain within your joints as well. And chances are, if you are not suffering from as much joint pain, you will be happier and in a much better mood. You may even be more likely to exercise more because of how great you feel!

Another great benefit to reap from incorporating pilates into your life is a greatly improved posture. WebMD explains pilates as “the system of strengthening and stretching exercises designed to develop the body’s core, mobilize the spine and build flexibility.”
