It's still technically winter which means that it's really cold in the morning--who wants to leave a nice warm bed to battle the foggy, snowy, wintery weather outside?

Well we actually have six good reasons that you should get up--so read on for some motivational reasons why you should get up and jump start your day!

1. Vitamin D is crucial to your health, especially when it comes to your mood, sleep patterns, energy levels, and especially your metabolism. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), "UVB radiation does not penetrate glass, so exposure to sunshine indoors through a window does not produce vitamin D." If you're someone that gets to work in the morning while it's still dark out, supplements might be the way to go--you want to ensure you're getting a good daily supply; especially in winter.

2. Go ahead, have that non-fat mocha latte! You might think that a little chocolate in the morning is unhealthy, but it's really quite the opposite! Chocolate is filled with healthy flavonoids and powerful antioxidants that have been shown to lower blood pressure and protect red blood cells--it's the perfect way for you to cool your nerves for that presentation you have later and get yourself out of bed. Not to mention, who wouldn't get excited about a little chocolate in the morning? So, go ahead! Indulge yourself!

3. According to Shape Magazine, "A Gallup poll reported that year after year, during the winter months, the percentage of Americans who regularly exercise at least 30 minutes or more, three days a week or more, drops by as much as 10 percentage points from summer highs." Tell yourself that you are going to prove it wrong--just exercising 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening is enough to bust that stat!

4. Every minute that you waste laying in bed talking yourself out of work, school, or chores, tell yourself this: you could be missing out on something amazing right now. That extra 5 minutes in bed actually made you miss that too-cute bartista on your way to work that totally would've asked for your number. When you hit that snooze button, you might've inadvertently missed an opportunity to run in to your long-lost friend at the grocery store. Who knows what you could be missing!

5. If nothing else, remember this simple fact: the most famous writers, musicians, politicians, artists, and activists were notoriously early risers.

What do you think about these motivators? Would any of these work for you? Let us know in the comments!
