Energy drinks have been around for a while now, but many people are still unsure of whether or not they actually work. Is it all in our heads, or does the high dose of caffeine, vitamins, and herbs really get our energy levels up?

Even if you are under the impression that energy drinks work, you might not know how they work in comparison to each other.

Take for example 5 Hour Energy. It promises an increase in energy without the huge crash in energy later. How does it hold up in comparison to some of the bigger energy drinks out there?

BuzzFeed decided to find out and tried an experiment on their own. They got three co-workers to try a simple memory test before, 20 minutes after, and five hours after consuming three popular energy drinks.

The results are pretty surprising.

Although this is not scientifically definitive in any way, this does give you a better idea of how energy drinks could change your energy levels over time.
