There are a lot of articles, health gurus, and magazines that claim if you eat this or drink that, you will lose weight fast, keep weight off, or burn fat without any effort.
While some of these may be valid, there's one concoction out there you probably haven't heard of that has some incredible health benefits and little (to no) effort required--drink hot lemon water every morning!
Here are four reasons why:
1. It helps you detox every day.
We've written a few articles here at HealthyPage that explain that juice cleanses and the like do not "cleanse" your system, nor do they boost liver function. Lemon, however, is a good alkaline food that can help balance your body's pH, while staying hydrated will help you flush out toxins.
2. It wakes up your digestive tract.
This tasty drink can also help wake up your digestive tract while it stimulates your gastrointestinal tract. That means that your system will be ready to absorb all the nutrients from those healthy foods you eat all day!
3. It supports weight loss.
"Lemon juice contains pectin, a soluble fiber that has been shown to aid in weight-loss struggles. And if you've been sipping on a cup of tea loaded with sugar or honey every morning, this beverage will slash calories from your daily diet," according to Shape Magazine.

If you ever feel a little off, or find that your stomach is a little upset in the morning, hot lemon water is the answer! Considering lemon juice is so acidic, it might be surprising to know that the flavonoids from lemon juice may help reduce acidity in your stomach, which is perfect if you experience heartburn during the morning.
