The researchers who created the HPV vaccine have been working hard ever since. Now, these researchers have found something even more revolutionary.

Their new vaccine can help lower cholesterol.

It was collaboratively invented by a team of researchers from the National Institute of Health in the U.S. and the University of New Mexico. Thy believe it can help reduce LDL (“bad”) cholesterol in the blood, and they also hope it could be better than daily statin pills people take now.

Cholesterol is produced to make hormones and vitamin D. However, too much of it can be unhealthy to your body.

However, your body prevents you from getting rid of excess cholesterol, because it thinks it needs it.

So this new vaccine helps with that. It helps your body eliminate PCSK9, the protein that prevents you from getting rid of excess cholesterol. This way, your body can remove excess cholesterol automatically.

Of course, like most early research, these extremely effective results have been seen in mice. Just a single dose reduced cholesterol levels in these critters, but researchers are confident that this practice could help humans lower their cholesterol effectively as well.

In a press release, Dr. Alan Remaley of the National Institutes of Health said, “Statins are still the most commonly prescribed medications for cholesterol. Although they are effective in many people, [they] do have side effects and don’t work for everyone. The results of our vaccine were very striking, and suggest it could be a powerful new treatment for high cholesterol.”

Let’s hope it works for humans! That would certainly be a game changer.
