It’s astonishing how quickly something so light-hearted can turn into a bloodbath once it’s posted online for the world to see.

21-year-old Ashley Stevens found that out the hard way when she shared what she thought was a hilarious photo of her and her boyfriend at a wedding on Reddit.

Ashley, from Georgia, was thrilled when she caught the bouquet at her friend’s wedding; but her boyfriend? Not so much.

At just 21 years old, we think it’s safe to say that Christopher Reed certainly isn’t ready to put a ring on it just yet.

And judging by the look on his face in this picture, he’s clearly not afraid to let his lady know it!

But what started out as a funny moment turned into a sea full of hate and ridicule—for Christopher.

The moment Ashley posted the adorable photo on Reddit, strangers from all over the world immediately began commenting on Christopher’s weight.

“That fatty would be lucky to marry that hot b***h,” one commenter wrote, with another adding: “If I looked like him...and l was dating her... l wouId wife her up real quick.”

“Hey Tubbo... marry that girl... you're never going to find better!” a hateful stranger wrote.

“Do you know why she's with him? Gravitational pull,” another continued.

Ashley was instantly taken aback by the horrific way her innocent boyfriend was being treated online, so she decided to fight back against her critics in the best way possible.

Instead of lashing out and stooping down to the same level as all those disgusting online trolls, Ashley did what she does best: take pictures!

Ashley responded to her boyfriend’s vicious critics with a series of adorable photos that show exactly why she feels like she’s “won the jackpot” with Christopher.

“Well let me just tell you, I won the jackpot with Christopher,” Ashley said. “He may not have rock hard abs like the world tells girls to want in a guy, but really, why does that even matter when you are trying to really find someone to spend the rest of your life with?”

“He is so thoughtful and patient, he always shows me how he loves me in little ways, he is my best friend. I love him for who he is and he loves me for who I am. Understanding, loving, and hilarious, which is so rare to find these days!!” she added.
