Doctors and health experts have all warned us about the health hazards of smoking, but most people never quite realize how serious these problems are until they see visual proof of their existence.

One man, who goes by the username THEHNIC951 on LiveLeak, has just shared a video that captures the dangers of smoking in a wholly uncensored way.

In the video, you can hear a man coughing violently for several seconds. The camera shakes as he holds it through his coughing fit before he finally hacks up a small, blackish-grey blob into his bathroom sink.

He continues to cough more, and then another mass splats on the white sink, this one larger and darker than the first.

When he shared his video on LiveLeak, the man wrote, “I used to smoke marijuana and cigarettes daily for eight years, since I stopped I have been coughing up this black and grey spit. It’s disgusting!”

In the video, he confirms this statement by saying, “That’s from smoking.”

Another viewer shared a similar experience, saying that he only recently stopped coughing up similar black and grey excrements – and he quit smoking 18 years ago.

Health experts constantly warn us that substances like tobacco smoke can contain up to 4,000 chemicals, 70 of which are carcinogens.

Long-term smokers, like the man in this video, face greater dangers than their counterparts who’ve smoked a shorter period of time. However, German researchers have discovered that even people with the worst, longest smoking habits have a chance of regaining their health if they quit soon enough.

If you’re still not convinced that you should stop smoking, watch the man’s original video here:
