Police in Ohio are asking the public for help in finding a mysterious woman who tried to kidnap a 4-year-old boy from a Columbus daycare.

As ABC 6 reports, the shocking incident happened on November 11 at Brightside Academy on Cleveland Avenue.

According to detectives, the daycare itself was secure, but the woman somehow knew the security code to break into the building.

After sneaking into the daycare center, the woman reportedly grabbed the little boy and slyly tried to walk out the door unnoticed.

Fortunately, an eagle-eyed staff member instantly saw what was going on and realized that the woman was not the boy’s mother.

Although she stopped the would-be kidnapper, the daycare employee said that before the woman disappeared from the building, she said: "See how easy it is to take a kid?"

The daycare staff later admitted to police that there had been a large turnover in employees lately, so it’s possible somebody managed to learn the security code without being noticed.

"It's heartbreaking. It's crazy, especially not being told what's going on" said Tihan Donnell, who picked up his kids on Wednesday night.

At this time, police have not revealed whether or not they know the identity of their kidnapping suspect.
